How to use Bhuvan in my website

Post by GMishx » Sat Oct 24, 2015 1:15 am

Hello there :D , I am doing a project using map services. Currently I am using Google Maps for the purpose :( . You can check it out here:
http://chennaighgemissions.in/

But I want to use Bhuvan to encourage 'Made In India' 8-) . Can you please guide me so that I can replace the Google Maps with Bhuvan Map over there. I want a simple 2D map with street layer and 2 custom polygons and lots of drop pins with which I can show some related data using the pop-ups as I am doing right now.

Any tutorial website also would be a great help by your side.

You can use any client like Openlayers (http://openlayers.org/) to consume Bhuvan datasets as WMS service. On top of it you can add your lines, polygons, placemarks as per your requirement.

To get access to Bhuvan data as WMS please write to bhuvan[at]nrsc[dot]gov[dot]in with intended use, your server ip and domain details.

More info is given here - http://bhuvan-forum.nrsc.gov.in/guest/v ... ?f=3&t=256

Thank you for sharing this information. I would like to suggest you to make some tutorials so people who are interested in doing some projects using Bhuvan could be able to proceed easily. And provide more information about your API and make the existing data more informative.

Thank you :)

You can use Openlayers API itself for consuming Bhuvan services.

Please visit imd.gov.in thunderstorm information (Direct URL - http://202.54.31.51/nowcast/thunderstorm.html). Mash-up with Bhuvan could be created like this.

For any further queries on implementation, feel free to write to bhuvan[at]nrsc[dot]gov[dot]in

Thank you Bhuvan team for helping me in my project and granting me access to use your services. I just wanted to know how many layers are there in your service under url: http://bhuvannuis.nrsc.gov.in/bhuvan/gwc/service/wms/?

Currently I am using india3 layer but I want satellite images also if possible. Can you please help me with this...

For satellite data use the following WMS URLs -

a) Plain WMS

service URL : http://bhuvan3.nrsc.gov.in/cgi-bin/bhuvan_satdata.exe?

Title - Bhuvan_satellite

Format = jpeg

projection = EPSG:4326

b) For Tiled Services, If your client supports TMS/WMS-C

Service URL = http://bhuvan.nrsc.gov.in/tilecache/tilecache.py?

layers = bhuvan_imagery

Format = jpeg

projection = EPSG:4326
