Disaster Support for Nepal Earthquake
A massive 7.9 magnitude shallow focus earthquake hit Nepal on 25, April, 2015 at 11.48 AM (IST) followed by number of after shocks. The epicentre of this earthquake is approximately 80 km NW of Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. The earthquake also caused tremors in many parts of India. ISRO has programmed all the available Indian satellites to acquire data for the affected areas. International charter was also activated for acquiring foreign satellite data sets for the affected areas. Geological assessment of disaster and also damage assessment is being carried out for the affected area. More

Nepal Earthquake Damage Reporting
Online portal provisioned for general public exclusively for mapping the damaged locations that were hit by Nepal Earthquake. This tool consists of options for marking Area, Line, Point features with customized attributes to notify the damage and its severity. To support the reporting mechanism post, pre event imagery, infrastructure, point of interest data, shaded relief are made available. Visit


Bhuvan - Disaster Services
Geospatial visualization of Studies and Support carried out on Nepal Earthquake by NRSC are made available in Bhuvan - Disaster Services. Epicenter locations with magnitude, Kathmandu, Sikkim Pre and Post event imagery, Damage Assessment details, Ground Photos and Tectonic Assessment details are available along with basic GIS tools.
